Karen’s Testimonials

Karen magically appeared in my life the week before I was due to give birth with my second child. My original doula needed to be quarantined suddenly and so Karen was asked if she could step in. From our first texts and only one phone call before I ended up having her at my birth, it was clear what a kind and considerate person she is. I wasn't sure how much I was going to need her, because at my first birth, I felt like I barely used or needed my doula, but I was sure I wanted someone there besides my husband.... just in case!

When the time came, she was utterly essential. I could not have imagined a more nurturing and helpful presence for my birth. Even while I was in labor, I remember thinking "Thank God she is here." My husband was great, but she was what helped me really keep it together. My labor progressed so quickly that I really needed someone to help me remain calm and help me with my affirmations. I will always be grateful that she was brought into our lives and that she shared her positivity and serenity to help me have a successful birthing experience.”

Karen was wonderful- she was a calming, in-control presence both in preparation for and during labor. She was responsive, professional, and compassionate. Karen was great throughout my pregnancy with a relaxed demeanor and showing confidence that she was prepared and would be good under pressure. This pressure presented itself when during my labor we had a nurse and doctor who did not support my birth ideas. She allowed me to make my own decisions and made it clear that she was in my corner no matter what I decided. She was very patient with my husband and the other hospital staff, even in the difficult moments.”
